BONUS EPISODE – Cigar PEG Radio Spotlight – Rich Gasaway / audio

Cigar PEG Radio

This week, host Craig Price offers up a bonus episode spotlighting Cigar PEG Radio.  What is Cigar PEG Radio? It’s a weekly podcast Craig has been producing and hosting for the past few years for the charity Cigar PEG. The podcast is a way for people to get excited and learn more about the Cigar PEG charity auction, which this year will be July 24th in Phoenix, where they will auction of celebrities to raise money for charities like the NSA Foundation and Laura’s Hope.

What is Cigar PEG?

It’s a 501(c)3 charity founded by Ed Rigsbee dedicated to making a difference by employing “Philanthropy through Fun.” Cigar PEG Radio is the podcasting project where each week Ed assigns Craig a mission. Maybe it’s to introduce listeners to some of the Cigar PEG staff or to some of their High Roller contributors. Maybe it’s one of their many donors who support them year after year; maybe it’s just for fun! But just like Cigar PEG itself, they hope you have fun and learn something new.

This year’s theme is “community” and Ed has instructed Craig to get to know some of the great and smart Cigar PEG folks, like the spotlighted guest in this bonus episode Rich Gasaway. Rich is a retired fire chief who now spends his time consulting and teaching organizations how individuals, teams and organizations make decisions in stressful environments. You can learn more about Rich at his website http://www.SAMatters.com

You can learn all about Cigar PEG at their website http://cigarpeg.com and you can join their Facebook and their LinkedIn groups as well as subscribing to iTunes to make sure you don’t miss an episode.

Episode 129 – Michael Goldberg – Convention Networking / audio

NSA Convention

Michael Goldberg (@MEGoldberg on twitter) joins host Craig Price to discuss convention networking at the upcoming NSA Convention. The two talk about their involvement in the 2014 National Speakers Association’s annual conference where Craig will be recording a LIVE Reality Check podcast on July 2nd at 3:30pm CST in the Learning Lounge and Michael will be presenting two first-timers sessions with Glenna Salsbury at 2pm on June 29th and 7:30am (yikes!) on June 30th. They talk about the feeling of overwhelming many new attendees get at such a large conference, Michael’s involvement in the conference “Buddy” program, how to effectively follow up after the conference and why Craig refers to aspects of the convention as the Star Wars Cantina.  They also discuss the great charity they both are a part of: Cigar PEG and why Michael is the de facto bartender for the infamous Cigar PEG suite (think networking!). A great listen for any attendee, be it a veteran or newbie.

Michael can be found at http://KnockOutNetworking.com

The National Speakers Association’s Annual Convention is this June 29th until July 2nd at the Grand Hyatt Manchester in sunny San Diego!  See everyone there (especially for the live podcast!).

Episode 125 – Ed Rigsbee – Association Membership / audio

Association Membership

Ed Rigsbee (@edrigsbee on Twitter) joins host Craig Price to talk about the ROI of association membership. Many of podcast listeners are either currently part of an association or even in the leadership of that association. My first question: When are you booking me for your next event? My second question: What are you doing to grow or at the least maintaining your membership? I hear from associations all across the country that they’re always worried about the membership numbers. People don’t see associations in the same light anymore. Thankfully Ed’s got a new book called The ROI of Membership-Today’s Missing Link for Explosive Growth This is what he does, find ways for associations to increase membership by increasing their value to their members. The two talk about how to stop giving the cow, the milk and anything else bovine-related away for free.

If you don’t know Ed, he’s also the founder of Cigar PEG which is a charity that raises money for several charities but especially the National Speakers Association Foundation. I’ve partnered with Ed to create Cigar PEG radio, a weekly podcast highlighting some of the people you might find hanging out in the Cigar PEG suite at the NSA convention.

APP BONUS: I’ve added the first episode with me interviewing Larry Winget so be sure to check it out and if you like it, subscribe to that podcast as well.
