Episode 188 – Doug Devitre – Remote Selling / audio

Remote selling

Doug Devitre (@DougDevitre on twitter) calls host Craig Price to discuss remote selling. Selling is hard. It’s hard face to face, it’s hard on the phone. It’s just hard. Especially if you can’t physically get to where your client is. Thankfully, Doug is on the podcast to discuss his book Screen to Screen Selling: How to Increase Sales, Productivity, and Customer Experience with the Latest Technology.  Facetime is not just something we need with clients, it’s something we use to talk to them! Doug and Craig talk about turning presentations into visual conversations, how to best interact with clients when there are so many applications to choose from (hint: Use what they use!!) and why the almighty bandwidth is so important.

You can learn more about Doug at his self-titled website http://dougdevitre.com/ and you can pick up his book at amazon.com or wherever quality books are sold.

Episode 182 – Scott Cooksey – Connection / audio

connection

Scott Cooksey (@ideacharger on twitter) sits down with host Craig Price to discuss connection. Connection means different things for different people. For some, making and keeping connections is a natural thing. For others, it takes effort and energy to connect and engage on a regular basis. When Craig sits down with Scott, the two talk about how a disaster forced Scott to reach out to his clients and establish a connection, how listening is the key to building connections and why Craig is so bad at maintaining long-term connections with clients. They also get into why Craig feels LinkedIn requests from strangers are just ways for people to spam his connections.

You can learn more about Scott at his website http://ideacharger.com and listen to his podcast The Success Charger Podcast with Scott Cooksey where Craig recorded an episode on negativity.

Episode 179 – Scott McKain – Distinction / audio

distinction

Scott McKain (@ScottMcKain on twitter) joins host Craig Price about his book Create Distinction. Being unique is something we all strive for. So much so that it seems everyone is the doing the same things to be unique (think hipster beards and tribal tattoos). Scott talks about how companies makes themselves unique to attract customers, Craig repeats his anti-purple cow rant, how to figure out what to focus on to be distinctive (other than being great) and how small businesses can compete with big companies by being distinctive.  They also talk about how you need to know what your competition is before you can separate yourself from them. Far too many people don’t know what others are doing so they can stand out (I’m talking to you podcasters who don’t listen to podcasts!).

Scott can be found at the obvious http://ScottMcKain.com.  You can all find his book Create DistinctionWhat to Do When Great Isn’t Good Enough to Grow Your Business on amazon and all the regular places.

Craig certainly enjoys a tasty adult beverage from time to time so the opportunity to go to a brewery and talk beer was too good to be true. David and Craig sit inside the climate controlled barrel room inside the Karbach brewery in Houston to talk the recent trend of brewing craft beers, how they are popping up everywhere including at home brewers, the decision of can vs. bottle, competing in a growing competitive market,  how they distribute their beer and how they prep their seasonal beers. It’s fun for the whole family (or at least those over 21).

Episode 130 – Madam Becky Adams – Brothels / audio

Brothels Madam Becky Adams (@MadamBeckyAdams on twitter) talks to host Craig Price about customer servicing and brothels. Contrary to popular belief, Craig has no idea about brothels or prostitution but he certainly learns a bunch of new things thanks to Madam Becky and her business concepts of customer servicing. While most of us are not running underground criminal syndicates, we can still learn some legal customer service techniques like overcoming customers fears. getting customers to commit to action (hey now, keep it clean!), how customer service starts well before the sale and finding the right employees who are committed to the best service (Not what you think, you dirty bird! – Okay it is what you think.) Unintended double entendres abound in this lively discussion but thankfully it’s a podcast so you can’t see Craig shift uncomfortably in his chair. Madam Becky has gone legit and now is teaching  ‘The Art of Seductive Customer Servicing’ at https://www.getpurposepowered.com/

App Bonus: You can get Madam Becky’s entire book “Madam: Prostitutes, Punters and Puppets”  for free in two formats! Her outrageous story is a witty and thought provoking tale of betrayal, friendship, love and loyalty. From saucy scandals and soft toys, to raids, robberies and ‘fancy fetishes’ all accompanied by a nice cup of tea and a ginger nut biscuit. The truth really is stranger than fiction.
