Episode 124 – Don Cooper – Pricing / audio

Don Cooper (@DonCooper on twitter) joins host Craig Price to discuss pricing. Figuring out how much to charge, when to increase or decrease fees or even when to discount fees can be a challenge for many. Often, in a services environment where competitors fees are rarely publicized, it can be difficult to balance getting what you are worth with what customers are willing to pay. Often people judge you by your price. Too low and you must not be worth the money, too high and you’re out of their budgets. Don helps Craig navigate through the maze and offers great tips on why you shouldn’t discount your fees, should you be the best bargain in an industry or should your fee reflect your expertise and results.  The two also talk about the emotional side of increasing fees. It can be a scary proposition for many who don’t want to price themselves out of their market. If you are a professional speaker, this is a great listen!

Episode 120 – Jeff Korhan – Social Marketing / audio

Social Marketing

Jeff Korhan (@JeffKorhan on twitter) joins host Craig Price to discuss social marketing. By now, it’s pretty well established that Craig has a love-hate relationship with social media. Jeff, along with his latest book Built-In Social: Essential Social Marketing Practices for Every Small Business talk Craig down off the ledge as they talk about how every business must be a media company moving forward. Videos, podcasts, blogs and more are just part of the new marketing landscape and if you don’t learn about it, you will be left behind! They also talk about how Facebook’s new algorithm has made their business pages more and more uselesss to the small mom and pop shops. They also discuss how important Google+ will be moving forward and how important content marketing is to your overall social media marketing strategy.

Episode 112 – Elsie Escobar – Podcasting / audio

Elsie Escobar (@yogeek on twitter) joins host Craig Price on location to talk about podcasting.  Recorded live on location in beautifully crisp Pittsburgh, this episode gets pretty meta and special bonus points for anyone who counts how often the word podcast is used! Podcasting seems to be getting larger and larger each year. Getting into podcasting is fairly easy, but getting one out on a consistent basis and growing an audience? Totally different story. Elsie and Craig talk about engaging your audience to grow listenership, some of the trends that Elsie sees as the Social Media Community Manager for Libsyn, the largest podcast host provider out there and how gravity can effect microphones. The also discuss what topics are on the rise and how podcasting can elevate your business.

Elsie has her own podcast award-nominated podcast called “Elsie’s Yoga Class” at as well as her latest podcast she does for Libsyn called The Feed. Full disclosure: While the podcast media is hosted on Libsyn servers and even though Craig is a paying customer of said Libsyn – this is not an advertisement nor a sponsored episode.

It’s a podcast for podcasters from the biggest name in podcasting. Yeah…I’ll stop using the word podcast now. Podcast!

Episode 96 – Phil Gerbyshak – Entrepreneurship / audio

Phil Gerbyshak (@philgerb on twitter) joins host Craig Price to discuss his path to entrepreneurship. Starting your own business can be tough enough but when you have to figure out how and when to leave your current job can make that final jump even more scary. With Phil, he figured a two year notice would benefit everyone. Two-years?? That little fact fried Craig’s brain but not Phil’s honest and realistic approach to spreading your wings and finally making it on your own. Phil explains how a great employee can make their own terms (you lazy losers just collecting a check…not so much) how to work two jobs ethically (no stealing pens from the supply closet) and how to work from a coffee shop can save your sanity. He also opens up about the loss and strange feelings you get the first few weeks out there on your own. And yet leaving to start your own company can be done without burning bridges and even keeping your current employees on your side. A great guide for anyone thinking about going out on their own but aren’t sure how to leave their current job behind.

Phil also hosts a great internet video podcast call “The Shut Up Show” with his co-host Bernie Xiong, which Craig calls a video support group for entrepreneurs. Check out Craig as he guests on Phil and Bernie’s show to talk about why he got into podcasting and how he shut up (yeah right…in his case it’s just an expression) and just did a lot of strange things in his life.
