Janice Levenhagen-Seeley (@ChickTechOrg on twitter) joins host Craig Price to discuss her non-profit ChickTech.  What is ChickTech? It is a nonprofit dedicated to retaining women in the technology workforce and increasing the number of women and girls pursuing technology-based careers. Craig and Janice discuss how their programs not only develop the skills women need in tech but also a sense of accomplishment and self-confidence. They also discuss the realities of the “Good Ol’ Boys” network, unconscious bias in the workplace and how you can find a local chapter or create one of your own. They also talk about using culture training and assessments to identify issues many organization may not even realize exist.

Michael Domitrz (@datesafeproject on Twitter) returns to discuss consent with host Craig Price. With all the news about sexual assault and consent laws in the media, Craig reaches out to  past guest Michael Domitrz to hash it out. Michael explains the importance of consent, open discussions with your partner (or potential partner) and why we need to focus not on how to avoid assault but on how to be a good human being. Meanwhile  Craig laments the fact that not enough men are speaking out on the subject while Michael offers that men should participate in the discussion but not break their arms patting themselves on the back because they do so. The two also discuss how awful internet comments can be!

Episode 116 – Rick Barongi – The Houston Zoo / audio

Rick Barongi, Director of the Houston Zoo (@houstonzoo on twitter) joins host Craig Price to discuss what goes into the running and expansion of a major zoo.  If anyone follows Craig on instagram (craigprice47) or on Google+ you’ll know right away how much he likes zoos and appreciates animals through his photography. Getting the opportunity to talk to the director of a zoo like the Houston Zoo was quite a treat. The two discuss the unusual situation at the Copenhagen Zoo regarding the euthanasia of a healthy giraffe and how it affects all zoos, the planned expansion of the Houston Zoo to include gorillas in 2015, the not so planned expansion of 6 additional chimpanzees recently as well as what goes into deciding which animals breed, like the new baby elephant and giraffe the zoos delivered this February.

Mike Domitrz (@DateSafeProject on twitter) of the Date Safe Project joins host Craig Price to discuss Teen Dating. No dating advice here, not for the teens anyway. Mike and Craig try and help parents talk to their kids about sex, porn, dating and intimacy. You read that right, Craig is talking about all those things, which is why podcasts are great for covering up blushing hosts. Times have changes since Craig was a teen (back in the 80’s) and parents need more help than ever. With the Date Safe project, Mike is taking his message of respect, consent and boundaries to teens across the world. But we all know proper attitudes start at home and with the parents.  Mike offers helpful tips for getting kids to talk to them about sex, mistakes parents make when giving “the talk” and clearing up some common misconceptions. If you have tweens or teens, this is a must listen for you.
